Yes it is helpful and It can help many ways. Most important is that it stimulates the sense of touch. There are many pathways in in our sense of touch to recognize the vibration. Those pathways effect on muscle tonus in their own way. So, using VAT you can stimulate the contraction in muscles and you can also relax them. This is very helpful on lower limb blood circulation in veins. It decreases swellings too. Vibration also stimulates motoric nervous system. I have had one case where patient's sense of touch has come back after 25 treatment on his paralyzed right foot (hemiplegia). So, I may suggest that you start use VAT asap!
ps. I use physioacoustic chair and I don't know if VAT is comparable with PA-chair. I have no experience with VAT. Anyway, both systems are based on sound vibration :)
